Thanks Charles. That canola is being treated with the fungicide metalaxyl.
It wasn't in any of the groups Iwasa tested against neonics.
I looked it up as best I could and learned that it is systemic (Wikipedia).
Cornell says it is non-toxic to honeybees (http://pmep.cce.cornell.edu/profiles/extoxnet/haloxyfop-methylparathion/metalaxyl-ext.html)
Since no ill effects are reported for bees on canola, it probably doesn't have synergistic interactions with clothianidin or imidacloprid (the two neonics most likely used on canola).
