I am wondering if anyone has had much experience with the fungicide
penthiopyrad. It has been registered for only a few years and it's
maker. DuPont in North America claims negligible impact on bees and
the fruit extension people echo this. But most fungicides are not
sprayed while bees are in the flowers and this one is and is
registered for that.
Before, when they were using Pristine the blueberry growers waited
until the bees were removed from the blueberries. Now they are
spraying penthiopyrad when the bees are in the field.
Anyone have experience with this?
Can anyone point me to the studies on bees and penthiopyrad. My
google search has turned up too much hearsay and no actual papers. I
have used the advanced search, but I no longer see how to get to a
feature that they used to have called "scientific search". That was a
good tool and probably still exists "somewhere".
