There may be some minor epigenetic adaptation in the first few generations,
but I wouldn't begin to consider a stock being locally adapted until it had
been selectively bred (either by nature or the breeder) for at least a
decade, and even then only if it exhibited traits or survivability clearly
different than commercial stocks.
