Why does conductivity of covers matter? If we seriously want to stop heat loss from conduction, should we not use a thin quilt of proper insulation? If we want to reduce heat loss from radiation, should we not just paint the undersides with white paint? Please explain.
Interested as I have used 3/4 in ply covers on hives made from 3/4 ply for the last 30 years - and would like to improve them now of course.
