I would add lack of stores. I've had one absconding event in the last 3 years, and it was in a nuc from a split that was out of stores and absconded before I got there with syrup and a division board feeder.
Also, I was under the impression that wax moths generally invade once the hive is empty...certainly with a hive as robust as the poster described. Chicken or egg?
