Throughout this discussion it has become more obvious to me that we are really talking about the beekeeper evolving his management practices to adapt to his local conditions and the nature of the bees he has. I can understand feral bees being impacted more by the process of survival of the fittest. But, as has been clearly pointed out, we manage our bees for the purposes we deem desirable. We are the ones most subject to evolving and adapting and thus becoming "locally adapted".
