On a related note, I noticed that Mite Away is recommending a half treatment after almonds, and then two full treatments making essentially three treatments per year. This seems like a blanket suggestion to use it practically all the time, during the season.
From their Ad:
Proven Program: Migratory Beekeepers
After Almonds apply 1/2 dose of MAQs® (1 strip) to hives if necessary.
May/June apply full dose of MAQS® to hives.
For Fall treat with full dose of MAQS®.
Back to Basics: MAQSimizing Your Economic Return
For Spring & Honey: Treat with strips 4- 6 weeks before main honey flow.
Before Splits: Treat with MAQS® 2 - 4 weeks prior.
End of Summer: Treat at the end of the honey flow, while the last honey super is still on.
