Hi Pete and All
When purple loosestrife became a worry back in the 80's I regularly
pulled any plants I found around our pond. I haven't done that for
years and see very few plants now. I can't believe that one person's
actions could be so successful in spite of the fact that my bees are
next to the pond. Possibly, as with Pete's Knotweed, it spreads
mostly by runners. Coltsfoot, however, spreads in the bush around
the pond in spite of my attempts to control it with non-chemical
methods. My bees definitely visit these plants.
