when the supplement is made up as a moist patty using sugar syrup, do you think that would be enough to dissolve the particles you refer to?
The bees certainly line up around the patty and seem to be having a good old "nosh up"!
Its consumed fully and does result in elevated brood rearing which would otherwise stop without the patty.

Hope you don't have to dig your way in and out of the house like the folks we have been seeing in our news broadcasts.
