I hate to repeat the common saying, but all beekeeping is local, my biggest
hives last year started out making the most honey... then promptly ate it
all in August before I pulled it (they got it about 50% capped then started
eating it all). Big populations aren't so good when your flow cuts out. I
suppose if it had been capped better I could have pulled the honey and fed
them...
