A young person who has worked on our bee farm the last 5 years and who wants to make a living as a beekeeper developed a bee sting allergy about a year ago. She has been getting de-sensitization treatment since that time and has now reached the point where she can take the equivalent of 2 stings without serious reaction. Her allergy doctors want to maintain her sting therapy at this level and do not want to up this dose. Of course we all know that in this profession we occasionally get many more stings than that. Does anyone on the list have any experience with this type of situation, or know which doctors or researchers with this expertise who we might contact?
Thanks in advance.
