Pete, I question this statement. I also assumed the same. But when I
actually went out and used a cappings fork to confirm, my observations did
not support that hypothesis. In many drone frames, I couldn't find a
single mite, despite the clear presence of mites on the workers. I didn't
check worker brood, but one might be safe to assume that a proportion of
the mites were there (as evidenced by the increasing mite infestation rate).
