We mix 1kg of washing soda with 5 litres of water and a good squeeze of
washing-up liquid. Put enough in an old honey bucket to cover the 3 hive
tools and uncapping fork that I keep in there permanently. Pan scourer is
also useful.
Whether this helps with disease prevention or not, it is good to have clean
hive tools - slips between the boxes much more easily.
