That is typical, it happens every year from northern MN all the way down as
far as Keokuck IA, I have seen some in the Saint Louis area, but not at
the slide off the bridge levels.
Every seasons a bit different. And they stink to high heaven for a cpl
days. The hatch itself usually plays out over a couple of weeks, but some
seasons its kind of an all at once thing.
The emergence has been so massive that the Mayflies left a big
slimy mess on roadways that contributed to a three-car crash:
