That is true is the feeding is not done right. However, if heavy syrup
is fed and fed in the proper amount, feeding actually assists in
curtailing brood rearing.
Not all situations call for fall feeding. Each beekeeper has to assess
the advisability and the economics at the time and place in question,
along with other factors.
At times, I have not fed. At other times, I have.
There are many interlocking factors in beekeeping, and any one system
may or may not include sugar feeding for various purposes.
Emergency feeding is one thing, feeding for other purposes is another.
There is a tendency to get them confused. Each is a separate topic.
