You make some valid points, Rusty. But that's not the same as these people making up a bogus patent number and posting it all over the blogosphere as "proof" that all our worst fears have come true.

As Mark Twain reported said, “A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.” And that was long before the Internet -- maybe even before television!
