Hi Mike Pete and All
I have a series of slides showing several locals, taken in front of
our house in New Bussa Nigeria, extracting honey, at night, by
squeezing the combs in their hands and letting the honey run off
their elbows into bottles. The bees were burned off with grass
torches but still caused lots of yelps from the beekeepers/honey
hunters. I guess this reinforces Pete's view. However I met at
Apimondia, in Dublin, a beekeeper from Jos Nigeria who used movable
frame hives.
