Exactly and this was officially counted and done by known races/strains decades ago showing that apis mellifera mellifera and caucasian had a good 2 million plus more sperm then the bigger carniolian type and later shown realtive to enlarged honey bees. 
Which then with making honey bees bigger makes for shorter lives and much less laying. And talking USDA paid for doings with best researchers in Europe (Woyke and others) and information in archives of smithsonian in Wash DC. And sizing then for those european bees looked at was still 4.7mm to 4.8mm range on average too!!!
