I have observed clustering sites migrate sideways over the course of the
winter in a long hive to get to fresh honey stores (no heat from
neighbors). However the winter temps here are such that the cluster beaks
at least once a week and reforms in a new position. I do not know if they
could do this absent a break in the cold.
