Yeah, we have all those plants here. But the corn is surrounded by them, not the other way round. My point is that a region that is mostly corn is not that good of a beekeeping region. Even here, these plants don't produce a dependable crop, with the possible exception of goldenrod. Right now they are bringing in basswood like crazy but last year both the basswood and the black locust failed. To make honey year in and year out, one needs to have a source that is predominant and dependable, not just hedgerows by cornfields.
