I like being well informed.
Not real happy with what I consider as overregulation and fear pushed by
regulators.
Regulation is fine but the world is getting smaller all the time.
We need queens in the U.S. at times when we can't raise our own.
I would say our beekeeping pests came off ocean containers and ships in
ports than from queen bee imports from Australia.
Canada was not harmed by decades of imports from OZ and neither was the U.S.
with years of queen and package imports. Luckily Horace Bell Apiaries
filled the package void. See ad ABJ.
Beekeeping seems to survive despite regulations.
All the so called regulations to stop beekeeping pests never seem to work.
Quarantines the same.
Few are of the opinion as me except for beekeepers needing queens in the
dead of winter or before mature drones in spring and the Australian queen
producers wanting to ship us queens.
my two cents worth.
