It has been extremely warm in Maine this winter and I suspect my queens
have been laying right along because my hives are very full of bees. I have
noticed bees flying off instead of the usual around the hive like they do
for a cleansing flight, it looks like foraging flights. I have candy boards
and pollen substitute patties on every hive. I wintered over in two deeps
and some hives had two deeps and a medium but it didn't seem to matter they
all got light, some in January the rest in February. I have been feeding
anything easy to lift, now that is every hive.
