There will be a pesticide application for Asian citrus psyllid in my
city (Santa Maria, CA) for a month starting next week. Chemicals are
imidacloprid and cyfluthrin. I am not sure about the details of the
application but it will be over a major portion of the city, and there
is apparently nothing I can do about it.
I understand these applications have been done in the Los Angeles area
and other urban places in recent years. Any beekeepers who have
experienced this situation care the share their experiences?
I have two hives in my back yard pollinating my avocados. I might leave
one to see what happens or I might just move both to the almonds and get
paid.
