I use the Chinese tool exclusively now. Took me a while to get used to it.
Need to just get the larvae on the tip of the tool, then they are easy to
push off. Just go down the side of the cell wall gently until some
resistance is felt, then scoop forward. Always approach from the 'back' of
the larvae.
When pushing off, make sure that the tip of the tongue of the tool is
central on the base of the cell and press down so the tongue has a slight
curve. Press the plunger gently and at the same time withdraw the tool;
that way you will not get the larvae squashed between the tongue and the
pusher.
It's rather more difficult to describe than to do!
