I just saw another study showing that a different species of mite "blooms" after treating trees with imidacloprid:

Seems like at least three species of mite are actually better off when dosed with imidacloprid....a water mite, the two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae), and this one...the spider mite Tetranychus schoenei.
