I don't think there is a worthwhile, cost effective method for removing big apolar compounds from wax. For polar, water soluble things I would
wash melted wax with warm water, possibly with an adjusted pH to increase solubility of the compound. But if I still had to take a shot
on removing big apolar compounds from wax, I would grind solid wax to a fine powder or make flakes or very fine threads and expose it to
sunlight or artificial UV source, letting oxygen get freely to the wax matrix. There is a chance that the compound degrades, possibly into a
polar water washable substance which can be removed by washing. Lennard
