Was that in a field situation? Or was it in the lab with feeding of the
concentrated mold products?
In normal feeding, the amount of mold is very small in comparison to the
amount of syrup and the mold typically separates from the syrup.
I should imagine this mold is ubiquitous in the bee's normal environment
even in the absence of feeding. After all, bees are picking up dilute
sucrose from flowers all the time and these flowers are exposed to dusts
and all sorts of environmental microorganisms.
