No time for citations, but thymol is a strong disinfectant, and also hits
tracheal and chalkbrood to some extent. Also appears to have some efficacy
against nosema. Will destroy nosema spores, and apparently suppress
infection rate. But not always--more work needs to be done.
But thymol is also rough on bees at higher doses--by extrapolation, likely
is also at lower doses.
