Raw honey is too viscous to enable pollen settle and so be more easily
detected. There is a technique where the honey is diluted 10 times by weight
minimum (e.g. 10gms honey to 100ml water). This is then left to settle for
24 hours in calm still conditions and the top liquid decanted off leaving
the sediment at the bottom. Use a pippette to transfer to sediment to a
slide, cover with a coverglass and examine just to determine whether pollen
is present X200 would be adequate.
