Allen, this is new to me!  Could you please elaborate upon the reasons and
their results?

That spacing would be 1.29 inches (allowing for 0.25 inch gap at the box
sides).  This would be close to the natural spacing that I see in volunteer
combs, and that of some top bar beekeepers.
