Could also be losses. If you have to start from scratch the yields will be
less. An established hive will yield more. but both count the same in
lbs/hive averages. With all the stuff out there killing colonies and
beekeepers starting fresh, you have an automatic bias toward lesser yields.
Hard to compare this environment with pre-mite yields.
Generally, I would expect about 150-175lbs per colony but, starting from
zero, about 20-40lbs. Certainly draws down the average.
