Hi Pete and all
I appreciate your post Pete as I used Apivar(Amitraz) this autumn. I
last used Apistan in the late '90s and never used Checkmite, so that
this is the first time I have used chemical strips in over a decade.
My mite levels were high in late July, at the end of our honey flow,
so I stripped my hives and treated with formic mitewipes. I
rechecked mite levels in September and found high mite levels again.
I have depended on formic and oxalic acid and was disappointed to
have to use a chemical albeit benign.
