I recently received a notice that I was non-compliant with the D.O.T. due
to being delinquent in my training requirements. "It is mandatory that
anyone who supervises drivers complete [the] Drug & Alcohol Awareness
Training."
So I paid my $99 for the online course. If you also receive the above
compliance notice, you may wish to read on.

Subject: Question on need to comply
To: [log in to unmask]
Hi,
I signed up and paid for the Supervisor Compliance training as per a letter
demanding mandatory training. However, part way through the course, it
appears to me that none of the course apply to me.
I run a small beekeeping business (apiarian industry). The only drivers
are myself and my two sons. We do not operate any vehicle over 26,000 lbs
GVW. The DOT specifically excludes the apiarian industry from drug and
alcohol compliance.
§ 391.2 (b) Apiarian industries. The rules in this part do not apply to a
driver who is operating a commercial motor vehicle controlled and operated
by a beekeeper engaged in the seasonal transportation of bees.
Do I still need to take the course?
Thanks!
