Peter, are the researchers basing "huge potential" on real world

In regard to the ongoing Roundup and bees discussion consider
that the standard agricultural application rate of Roundup
to Roundup Ready crops is 1-2 quarts of Roundup Concentrate
into 5 to 10 gallons of water per 1 acre. Farmers who add
non-ionic surfactant to the tank mix add only 3.2 to 6.4
ounces (about 1/2 a cup) into 10 gallons of water per 1 acre

Countless thousands of such applications are made each year (e.g.
about 60% of Iowa's entire landmass is covered with herbicide
tolerant corn and soybeans). Are you aware of any real world
field studies that have shown foraging bees or other pollinators
are killed or harmed in significant numbers by these applications
which are made only once or twice a year?
Or is this another case where farm kids armed with video cameras
could show the world that foraging pollinators can be routinely
observed on flowering weeds before, during and after the Roundup
+ surfactant applications?
