Stated another way. Initially, all species identified and named were
distinguished based on morphometric characteristics - what they 'looked' like.
Genomics proved this metric can be inaccurate. Some organisms that looked
alike, didn't necessarily belong to the same species, and some that looked
very different were actually closely related.
