I would recommend great caution when using paint scrapers. Yes, they look just like the "official" hive tools and will do just as good a job at scraping the wax and propolis off your frames. But they are made of a different grade of steel and are far more brittle than a regular hive tool. If you try to use a paint scraper to break apart a couple of supers that are really stuck or to pry out a particularly stubborn frame, the paint scraper may shatter, sending sharp fragments flying everywhere.
Yes, they are cheaper but you get what you pay for.
