We inspect colonies in sheds using red light. As per how to hive packages
in cold weather - I can't see Allen stuffing individual bees back in to
the hive through the hole in the inner cover :)
In MT, if we're short on honeycomb and have to hive in cold weather, I pour
granulated sugar into the combs, mist with just enough water to provide
some resistance to the sugar from falling back out.
