Hi Diotima:

A possible reason for mildly aggressive bees is problems with ants. I have a 
yard of 15 hives which are all reasonable except one.

Yesterday I went out to put a sticky board in ( it has a screened bottom 
board) and found a red ant colony had taken up residence in the bottom 
board. They were all over the place and certainly were making the bees 
cranky.
