>Joe, I went into the site, and was not able to find "nomenclature" when I
searched the swarm page. Could you please help?

Randy, Sorry I'm late responding, just noticed your post.
Been busy looking into the bee mortality of 1816.
I'm collecting articles related to bee die-offs which have
occurred in the years after some major volcanic events.

With killing frosts in New England during every summer month
of 1816, the year had to have been disastrous for honeybees,
but so far, not much seems to have been written about the
condition of bees in 1816.

I had the 'swarm nomenclature' article posted on the
message board of the historical honeybee archives site.
I see that Karen posted the source for you.

>Yes Joe, what is this cast swarm.

The cast is the first swarm after the
prime swarm.

Best Wishes,
Joe Waggle
