I read the link to the apinovar.com website about flash formic acid treatment with great interest. It seems like a pretty safe method for the bees and a relatively easy method, too, assuming proper safety precautions are followed, especially since I already have trays beneath SBB under every hive. But, I only have 90%, not 65%, which is what they use. 40 ml of 65% should be about the same as 29 ml of 90% (I suppose to be precise I should be calculating molarity, but that would mean digging out and actually reading one of my old chem books, and I think this is close enough for this purpose). Or, would it be better to dilute it down to 65% before adding? I don't see how it would matter, but I defer to the expertise of the formic acid users on the list. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bill
