Trevor is correct about stimulating the queen.. We provide supplemental
pollen and nectar, both to offset shortfalls of food resources, but also to
stimulate foraging - we place the food stuffs at various points in the
greenhouse to get the foragers out and working.
One has to monitor bee activity, too much food and they'll skip the
flowers. You can place the food out in different places on different days to
keep them searching. Or do a day on, day off.
