Possible the spread of virus in large yards might be due to the water source
with a small water source and no nectar pollen coming in (like in a large
California holding yard like Richard Adee uses).
I looked once a few years ago in answer to Horace Bell's question about
nosema spores picked up from a water source but found no information.
I believe the nosema spores survive in water and the source we were looking
at was two small ponds 100 feet across in an area of Florida where the pond
water never reaches freezing or 100F. in summer.
