My home town, Vancouver officially legalized beekeeping in 2005 and set 

up guidelines to manage beekeeping

). All beekeepers must register with the provincial B.C. Ministry of 

Agriculture and Lands. Although beekeeping was not officially 

sanctioned until 2005 people have always kept bees here and registered 

their bees through the provincial government. Bruce.
