No. For the List's info, Juanse and I observed a variation of this
technique at the Univ of West Australia, in which they froze the bees first,
and then snapped off the frozen abdomens for crushing.
I haven't found that to be necessary. I intentionally try to keep as few
steps as possible in the protocol. For practical (as opposed to scientific
data) purposes, a very quick and easy protocol that realistically allows for
the processing of many samples is of more value, IMHO, than slightly more
accurate complex protocols.
