Things are changing. Many years ago, when I used to make dandelion wine, the big flush of them came around St George's Day 23rd April. During the last few years it has been the first week of April but this year, following the coldest winder for decades, the flush was in the last week of March. As dandelions have a perennial rosette of leaves I am wondering whether they might be sensitive to radiation rather than simply temperature. I remember once being told that there is a relationship between some flowers, snowdrops I think, and the sun spot cycle which has now re-started after a break.
