Starting to feed sugar syrup to initiate brood rearing here in southwestern Alabama. I've delved into the archives but so far have been unable to uncover the info I'm wanting. The Ph of sugar syrup is supposedly neutral, or almost - 7.0. The Ph of honey is around 3.9. Do any of you recommend the addition of vinegar to lower the Ph of the sugar syrup? Would that be more palatable to the bees? Would it be best to just stick to the plain sugar/water mixture for boosting brood rearing?
