I've wondered the same thing. This year I'm going to keep a 2-frame-wide
feeder in the top super of each hive, just to make a "warm spell" or "early
spring" feeding easier/quicker.
At the temperatures of the far part of northern New England, I can't
imagine there'd be a significant temperature change in the hive by doing
this, but I'm all ears if anyone has any experience or thoughts on the
topic.
