Back in 2007 I ask the list about bleach use in beekeeping. The only replies
that I received were related to potential dangers and honey contamination.
I did all sort of experiments, including spraying 12% bleach directly onto
the cluster. Bleach does not kill bees.
I use currently bleach on all my feedings at a rate of 500 ppm. When driping
with frames use 20000 ppm.
Bleach at this concentrations does not reduce spore counts BUT colony
improves - I assume it controls viruses.
