I am not able to answer the last part ... "the amount and concentration of
acid being contemplated, plus the pad size and type"
I can tell you that I had never put formic pads this early and with low
ambient temperature. I can tell you that I am recording around 7 to 10 mites
per 300 bees now (winter here, 20 days before almonds).
Hives are in one body, from almost dead to over 5 frames. I want to treat
the bigger ones, the ones that should go to the almonds.
Ambient temperature over here max 10ºC , min -2ºC. Relative humidity very
high > 90%
I am trying to define if Formic is a treatment option and if so which should
be the correct dilution/concentration to use, the liberation rate and the
maximun time it should be at that given rate.
