My experience with 6 volt solar unit is that they are under powered. I
have in operation two 12 volt units - one a Parmak which is definitely
pricey and one a Speedrite. The Parmak is protecting a yard that
previously suffered bear loss and has been in place for three years
without incident. The voltage reading when last checked was a health
7.8KV. My experience is that solar works but you have to have an
adequately sized unit.
